TECMETAL is a technical consulting company in the engineering field that seeks to offer its clients technological solutions in all matters related to materials.
Operating since 1991, the company supports its clients in material selection; specification and qualification of raw materials; analysis of manufacturing processes; failure analysis; personnel training; and development of materials, products or manufacturing processes, especially welding.
Located in Rio de Janeiro, TECMETAL has its own technical staff, complete laboratory infrastructure for mechanical, metallographic, chemical and corrosion testing; as well as space for workshops and training.
With immediate service, TECMETAL offers advisory services in short or long-term projects, material analysis in the laboratory or in the field, equipment inspection and integrity assessments.

We are about 20 people involved in ensuring the satisfaction of our clients by providing consistent technical information, obtained through tests and analyses carried out in our laboratories, with critical analysis to identify how this information is conclusive in meeting clients' needs.

Guilherme Zeemann
Guilherme has worked at TECMETAL since 2010, performing material selection and specification, raw material qualification and manufacturing processes, and metallurgical failure analysis of components from various sectors. He graduated in Materials Engineering from UFRJ in 2012, completed his master's degree in Corrosion in 2016 from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at COPPE/UFRJ, and defended his doctorate in Welding at PUC-Rio in 2024.
He also completed a specialization course in Welding Engineering at SENAI in 2013.
In his current role as Technical Director and Laboratory Manager, Guilherme has assumed responsibility for technical management, leading a team of 12 professionals, including technicians and engineers, with the goal of ensuring that the team delivers projects that meet customer satisfaction.
Annelise Zeemann
Annelise is a founding partner of the company in 1991 and currently works as a technical consultant. A Mechanical Engineer from UERJ in 1987, she completed her master's degree in welding from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at COPPE/UFRJ in 1990, and her doctorate in nickel superalloys at COPPE/UFRJ in 2002.
She teaches postgraduate courses in the areas of materials and welding, and structures courses and workshops for the technical community. Since 2016, she has been responsible for the Materials Life website (www.materials.life), which is a metallurgical database, and the YouTube channel of the same name. Annelise has specialized knowledge in the area of microstructural analysis/metallography. She also has extensive experience in the selection and specification of materials for projects in the oil and gas industries.
Paulo Emygdio
Paulo is a founding partner of the company in 1991 and currently works as a technical consultant. He graduated in Metallurgical Engineering from UFRJ in 1983, completed his master's degree at the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering of COPPE/UFRJ in 1986, and his doctorate at COPPE/UFRJ in 1996.
Previously, he worked as a professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the Polytechnic School of UFRJ and as a lecturer in postgraduate courses in the areas of materials and failures. He has extensive experience in high-temperature materials, fracture and fatigue, as well as specialized knowledge in mechanical properties and testing of metallic materials in general.
